Hold . Speak. Done.

Local AI dictation for macOS. Your words appear in any app, in under a second — with nothing leaving your Mac.

How it works

Three keystrokes. That's it.

No mode-switching, no app to focus, no copy-paste loop.

01

Hold right ⌥ Option

Press and hold the right Option key on your Mac keyboard. A small pill appears — you're live.

02

Speak naturally

Say anything — sentences, lists, punctuation. Vibetype understands natural speech including "comma", "new line", and "period".

03

Text appears anywhere

Release the key. Your words are inserted wherever your cursor is — email, Slack, code editor, browser, any app.

Product

Minimal by design.

Lives in your menu bar. Shows up when you need it. Disappears when you don't.

Every dictation is saved locally. Browse, edit, and go back to anything — up to 300 sessions.

Smart formatting

Say "comma", "new line", or "period" — Vibetype converts them. Sentences are auto-capitalised.

Privacy

Your voice is private. By architecture.

Privacy isn't a setting or a policy. It's the result of a system with no server to send data to.

No servers

There is no Vibetype server, no API, no data pipeline. Everything stays on your Mac.

No accounts

No sign-up, no email, no subscription. Download and use it — that's all.

No telemetry

Zero analytics or usage data leaves your device. Not even opt-in.

Audio never saved

Your voice is processed instantly and never recorded or stored anywhere.
